AN INVITING CONFERENCE TABLE
THE LATIN ISLAND
The Danish design duo Ernst & Jensen started their collaboration while studying at The School of Architecture. During their education, they entered and won Erik Jørgensen’s talent competition with their furniture Waves. Since then, the duo have contributed to Danish design with a lot of beautiful furniture, amongst this is the Insula series. The first tables in the collection have a table top in an organic and asymmetric shape. It almost looks like an island – hence the name Insula, which means island in Latin.
SOFT SHAPES
A conference table is often quite harsh in its expression – often this is done typically with sharp edges, but the Insula 195 table is an exception. This is a table that upholds soft shapes, like the original Insula table, which was designed to look like a small island.
