The geodesic structure is a to between a metallic structure with modular spatial geometry (rods and nodes) with single and/or double membrane below rightly tensioned and stabilized. The advantages of the double membrane
are the following: insulation, with a great reduction of thermal coefficient, a better habitability during middle Seasons, a reduction of condensation and a less acoustic resonance. The structure is calculated for overload of snow + wind + pretensioning + self weight.
Covering membrane is manufactured in high tenacity Trevira polyester PVC coated fabric, in white and green translucent colors, weather resistant and with characteristic listed in the technical data sheets. Membrane is placed under the structure and tensioned with chains and special disk
tear-protecting, with dear advantages in terms of durability and a great reduction of condensation. Actually, the main advantage is durability and maintenance of membrane, as the lack of direct contact points with galvanized structure allows the membrane not to suffer damage caused by fretting. From a statically point of view, the suspended membrane assures the load distributions directly to the nodes without weighting on the single rods and therefore without creating combined compressive and bending stress on the same rods.
