Description

We were approached by Consigli Construction to realise and manufacture their designs for a set of bespoke curved bench tops designed by Michael Boucher Landscape Architecture. The bench tops were to be mounted onto three pre-installed concrete plinths as part of the Canal Plaza redevelopment project in downtown Portland. The bench slats were manufactured from FSC Cumaru with a hidden stainless steel frame and fixings. They were supplied in sections and had to manufactured to a high tolerance so that when they were transported half-way round the world and mounted onto the plinths they would match the complex shapes exactly.
The client feedback was "The installation went very well thank you. The wood matches perfectly to the bench just as the design intended. It’s extremely impressive to me that the precision was able to be achieved even though the product was not formally field measured and was manufactured 3,000 miles away."
