Gerrit Rietveld designed the Mondial chair specifically for the World Exhibition held in Brussels in 1958. The Mondial was Rietveld%u2019s %u2018chair for the world%u2019. The Mondial is both a minimalist and innovative design, created by one of the most prominent furniture designers of the 20th century.
Gispen has launched a special reissue of Rietveld%u2019s aluminum chair, in cooperation with Rietveld by Rietveld: the Mondial 2006.
The new Mondial is an authentic reissue of the original design by Gerrit Th. Rietveld. The Mondial, the only project chair ever to be designed by Rietveld, is now available in 6 different colours.
Gispen is in charge of the distribution and sales of the Mondial 2006 for the commercial market. Rietveld by Rietveld is responsible for the consumer market.
In homage to the Mondial, Gispen has launched a table, the Gispen WV.01, as the ideal companion for the Rietveld chair.
