Beautifully and memorably, Julia shows the way baseboards used to be during the Art Nouveau period. This baseboard clearly shows the excessive ornamentation.

Art-nouveau or Wilhelminian-style Goldleisten show simple sweeping profiels reminding of the lavish ornamentation of for example this era's coffee table-legs. These base boards close the gap between the classic and the much more decorated Victorian influenced Goldleisten.
