This unique cushion comes from Kuba textile. The textiles of Kuba people from Congo are decorated with engaging abstract designs. The Kuba people have been producing textiles since the 17th century, amazingly there is something strikingly modern about their designs. Kuba cloth is woven from the fibres of the Raphia Vinifera Palm. Production of these textiles is a multiple stage process which involves the participation of children, men and women of the same clan. Indeed, they have been a source of inspiration to masters like Matisse and Picasso. We hope they shall inspire you equally.
