The increase in industrialization in the first half of the 19th century was accompanied by the arrival of the Louis-Philippe style, the last style to bear the name of a monarch and the symbol of the %u201Cbourgeoisie%u201D lifestyle. Characterized by straight lines and rounded corners, wardrobes, bookcases and chests of drawers are adorned with doucine molding that often conceals the drawer.
