Mortise lock (SDL51.32.22C38) is a narrow frame lock, specially designed for doors made of aluminium profiles or other materials with narrow shape. It can use for normal doors made of steel and wood as well.
The supporting structures inside the lock is made of zinc ally. The front cover, lock body, and all inside transmission parts are made of stainless steel.
Design principles
People normally think stainless steel lock are a kind of luxurious product because of the high cost material stainless steel. Manufacturers are normally refuse to use stainless steel in consideration of price competition.
However, we found it is actually necessary for lock to consider specially about the quality of rust resistance based on our investigations and researches. Although the lock is not visible after installation except the front cover, the inside structure is actually always open to the air because of the hole for mounting cylinder and gaps for latch and dead bolt.
The function of a lock depends fundamentally on accuracy of transmission parts insides the lock body. The accuracy of these parts will be decreased by dust during long term of its lifespan, rust will increase degree of abrasion of the parts. Oil is usually used to prevent rust inside the lock body, but oil will increase accumulation of dust.
