Contemporary lacquered shelf
Design: Carlo Cumini, 2008
The ‘93-’08 bookcase features a solid wood structure that never breaks the MDF shelves flow nor resorts to backs. The result is a composition of great visual lightness and excellent stability. Each shelf presents a different shoulder and height to create an orthogonal, ever-present, visual rhythm.
Sides and front uprights made from solid walnut or solid lacquered beech. Shelves made from melamine-coated and lacquered particleboard. Countersunk head screws with washers for fixing the sides and the front uprights to the shelves. The caps for covering the holes are made from a sandwich of wood and fabric, consisting of two sheets of wood and one of fabric, cut by laser and 2 mm thick. These are glued to neodymium magnets which attach to the head of the screws. Adjustable feet.
The shelves are the same length as the bookcase itself, without joins, and measure up to a maximum of 290 cm. Optional accessories: container tray and container box made of walnut, coloured hole-covering caps. Custom-cut open compartment and corner joint. To ensure the bookcase’s structural stability and total safety, it is advisable to anchor the bookcase to the wall using the special brackets provided.
