Since the early ‘70s, Horton Automatics has been providing automatic door equipment for the transit industry worldwide and is currently the only U.S. manufacturer of such equipment. This equipment can be classified as two different products: Station Platform Doors and Vehicle Door Operators. In general, this equipment has been furnished and installed as an integral part of Automated People Mover (APM) systems, although we have furnished doors for some inclined lifts as well. APMs are train systems designed for light to medium duty traffic, primarily in airports, urban business districts, or industrial complexes.
