The thermal shock or contrast bucket shower is one that dumps a large amount of cold water onto the user in a very short period of time. It is ideal after a sauna, steam bath or any other high thermal treatment. The container or bucket (usually made of wood or stainless steel), is filled with water, at ambient temperature, which is then dumped onto the user when a manual puller is activated.
