Isola Elastofol is an excellent alternative to PVC foil and roof coverings without slate granules. This product consists of TPE-modified bitumen, a strong fibre-reinforced product that we have been using for many years. This combination creates a strong, flexible product. Isola Elastofol is used both as a roof covering and as a coated membrane. Test results show that it has a life of more than 40 years! Properties Considerable tensile strength and tear and puncture resistance provide protection against mechanical strain. This is important for the attachment points which might otherwise have been weak points when subjected to Norwegian winds. Isola Elastofol's welded joints are extremely strong. UV radiation, thermal ageing and other tests show that a roof covered with Isola Elastofol will last for a very long time. Isola Elastofol retains its properties and is also soft and pliable in cold weather. It absorbs any building movements caused by temperature and other mechanical loads and the roof remains weatherproof. The excellent welding properties of Isola Elastofol are retained on older roof coverings, and this makes it easily to repair damage, make new feedthroughs, change roof details, carry out alterations and build extensions.
