Description
The predecessor to the later Biedermeier the Josephine items feature a stern clearness of shapes and designs. It is closely related to the French Directoire Empire. Many shapes and designs were later used in the Biedermeier. Common examples of this period are the typical pendant lamps suspended on multiple chains.
