The Harvard Art Museums are part of the Harvard University in Cambridge and comprise three museums: the Fogg Museum for European and American art from the Middle Ages to the present, the Busch-Reisinger Museum focusing on works from central and northern Europe with a special emphasis on the art of German-speaking countries and the Arthur M. Sackler Museum.
Scope of Work
The 2,900 sqm large façade consists of different construction types.
Sloped roof incl. louvres and sun shading device: 1,530 sqm.
Steel and glass construction: mullion-transom stick system, aluminium louvre frames with glass louvres. Primary sloped steel rafters plus secondary steel stick system framing for insulated glass units. Exterior aluminium cassettes with glass louvres. Interior and exterior motorized sun shading devices. Courtyard curtain walls and walkway 570 sqm steel and glass construction: mullion-transom stick system. Steel stick system façade with architectural maintenance walkways in the courtyard and a king post and tension rod system also in the courtyard area. Interior motorized double-shading devices.
