During the development of Njord, the designers Antonio Scaffidi and Mads K. Johansen (†) not only wanted to create a piece of furniture with a unique, unmistakable character; their goal was to design a product family that lives up to the high quality and functional standards applicable to contract environments and yet still be extremely comfortable and homelike. The 55 cm high Njord occasional table perfectly complements the award-winning series, and has all the trademarks of these designers: they have the same proportions as the armchair legs, and the table legs open up like a chalice – not upwards as you might expect, but downwards, carrying the round table top. The latter is entirely rounded, and made of black solid HPL. The table top and the solid wooden frame, either made of beech or oak, are screwed together through a linking plate.
Straight lines with delicate curves. You can tell at first glance that Njord is rather
exceptional! The material wood is worked into an unusually slender frame. The seat shell,
entirely made of anthracite polyester felt, seduces with its organic design and the
soft touch of its materiality. Four internationally recognised design awards provide
convincing proof that the Njord armchair stands out above the rest.
