Rocky is a sculptural piece. It can be used as a console or a credenza, but will also accommodate books and objects to become the most graphic display or bookshelf. Designer Charles Kalpakian plays with our perception of space and volume with an object that reveals itself and changes according to the observer’s point of view. Charles Kalpakian likes to play with geometrical shapes in order to create a confusing feeling of volumes. Credits Charles Kalpakian’s artwork. PRODUCTION & KNOW-HOW Rocky is made by one artisan who bends and wields each sheet of steel together. The result is a seemingly monolithic yet light sculpture that is patiently polished before it gets its signature textured epoxy laquer.
