mageba RESTON-SPHERICAL bearings ensure the controlled transfer of forces between a structures superstructure and its substructure. They also facilitate rotations about every axis and movements in every direction. A convex curved element, sliding on a matching concave surface, transfers vertical forces while allowing the required rotations.
Applications
RESTON-SPHERICAL bearings are suitable for use in structures which require the transfer of medium to high loads, and for structures whose bearings must facilitate large cumulative sliding movements - such as suspension bridges which are susceptible to wind forces. The high-strength, high-durability sliding material used at its heart allows the bearing to be designed smaller than would be possible with any other bearing type a feature which may be of particular interest where space is limited.
