The seats lie on the ground like a blanket. This is how you can create comfortable seating that invites people to stay a while on walls and terraces. People like to sit on walls and outdoor stairs. However, their surfaces are often dirty and cold. Il Posto sprang from the idea of creating a product that offers a low-maintenance, comfortable seating area. The design evokes associations with a blanket that is placed over a wall. The seats have an exterior radius of 38 mm and they are bent at a 90° angle. Thus, the horizontal area transitions to the vertical area with a gentle sweep. This means that sharp and ugly wall edges are covered. Sheets of HPL are used for Il Posto. HPL stands for High Pressure Laminate, a material that is made of 70% wood veneer and 30% melamine resins. It is extremely weather-resistant and UV-stable. HPL is resistant to most solvents, which means that graffiti can be removed easily. There are several colours to choose from. An underframe of stainless steel allows easy mounting on the substructure. All elements can be replaced individually in case of damage due to vandalism.
