Les Songes de Stein fabric is a viscose velvet on which a lamination was used to create this reptilian pattern. Its iridescent shine is the work of a coloured film deposited in the crevices of the pattern, after the passage of the cylinder, to impart an incredible richness of tones . Gertrude Stein was an American poet, writer, playwright and feminist. She spent most of her life in France and was one of the biggest catalysts of art in her era, by contributing to the dissemination of Cubism and more particularly the works of Picasso, Matisse and Cezanne, through her personal collection and her books.
