Freedom Residential Elevator's Freedom 950 model is an economical home elevator with a winding drum system. A Freedom 950 elevator can hold up to either 750lbs or 1000 lbs, depending upon the design. The elevator's motor can run up to 36 feet per minute, and the elevator itself can travel to heights up to 40 feet with five stops. The elevator car has a height of 80 inches, although some can have an extra feature to be extended to 95 inches, and dimensions of 35 inches wide and 48 inches deep inside. Emergency features for this elevator include a battery-powered lowering function and alarm and stop buttons. In addition, Freedom 950 elevators come in a variety of finishes to match the wood in your home and with four recessed ceiling lights inside.

Winding drum driving systems can be mounted in various locations, including at the tops of rails and, because a machine room is not required, this type of mechanism takes up little space. A winding drum system is as smooth and efficient as a hydraulic elevator and can do more than four stops over the same span of distance. Although installation requires most of the same parts and still takes from three to four days, the side should be prepared with permanent power and telephone jack near a fuse-able disconnect box.
