The CMCs aim at reducing the global deformability of a soft soil mass and improve its geotechnical properties through the insertion of semi-rigid elements and thus allow construction on superficial foundations or of a slab-on-grade.
CMCs are aimed at supporting part of the structural loads while the improved soils take over the remaining loads.
