Wire Bar Stool The Wire Bar Stool is an exclusive piece of furniture made by skilled saddle makers and metal workers in the country of Denmark. Steel tubes with a cross-section of 5 mm steel wires form the bearing structure, while a cigar shaped footrest is made in solid wood. The steel frame is hand welded by an experienced blacksmith. The upholstery is crafted by using traditional techniques known from saddle making where thick full-grain leather is sewn together with a soft leather and a layer of foam to achieve stiffness to the ‘saddle’ as well as optimal sitting comfort. The leather saddle is mounted to the bearing structure with leather straps intertwined with the steel wires that shape the seat. The Wire bar stool is the newest addition to the collection named Wire. The Wire Collection finds inspiration in traditional saddle making and metal work, and challenges the synergy and contrast in the use of materials.
