Ancient, authentic, bound to the earth, poor and at the same time noble, harmless for the environment, tactile and sensual to touch. It is the courage to innovate and recover the purest tradition of working porcelain, to give it a contemporary look; challenge the design difficulties and push the material even more forward, creating innovative shapes whose function and aesthetic merge in harmonious balance. Eight internationally renowned designers work with Pamar to create this collection: Björn Dahlstrom, Natalie Du Pasquier, Gordon Guillaumier, James Irvine, Jasper Morrison, Pierre Charpin, Rodolfo Dordoni, and George J. Sowden, each enforcing their own formal language, designing four hundred pieces, gathered in sixteen ranges of products, each unique in character. Pure, ethereal and timeless, it alternates with other more elaborate forms, artistically decorated with patterns and graphics. With polished to craquelée surfaces, the handles leave a poetic and distinctive mark on furniture, without overlooking the function for which they were created. A complex project where the simplest shapes are revealed to be the most difficult to create, where the many varieties of processes have multiplied the difficulties of production in series: from the techniques to control deformations to shrinkage of the material, due to the high furnace temperatures, particularly to maintain the shapes of the bridges and bars unaltered, to strength testing of every single piece, challenging the laws of statics and physics.
