Project Feature The First Tower, which has become the new flagship building of La Défense, meets environmental criteria and has obtained all qualifications and certifications. Its exemplary character in this field has marked the beginning of a new era in the design of highrise buildings in France. In this context, the façade has played a fundamental role in achieving quality objectives. It is a bio-climatic façade, in the true sense of the word. In fact, each component has been treated differently according to its exposure and its role, area by area, within the building. Therefore, entire sections of the façade have been treated as ventilated dual-skins serving as heat shields. Moreover, low emission glass has also been used. Such performance has made a major contribution to reducing energy consumption from 400 to 100 KWh/m²/year and CO² emissions from 37 to 13 kg/m²/year.
