Contemporary bar stool
Peter Hook
High Chair Motorcycle
Title: Motorcycle
Wood: American walnut and cherry
Mesurements (cm): 38 x 35 x 60 - 80 (W x D x H)
Surface: Oil finish
In different types of woods and costom sizes available
First, I wanted a comfortable stool; one you could
spend time on without feeling like you need to get up.
The curved legs give the stools an elegant look.
The top is oval and thicker, tapering down to round
thinner leg at the bottom.
The selection of the wood has to be carefully done. For example, for
the leg, a straight grown piece of wood has more strength than a curly
piece of wood. For a seat, a more vibrant piece which is nearer to a
limb, root or the crown is more visually interesting.
My relationship to the individual piece of wood makes my work
challenging and gratifying and as a result, no object is like another.
