Raffia, or Madagascar, as its commonly referred to is one of the most sought after wall fabrics. For Spring 2006, we are pleased to introduce a new range of yarn-dyed, colored Raffias for use on the walls or for light upholstery. We start by picking and drying the raffia straw that is cultivated from the palm leaf, then we dye it in acqueous based inks to take color and we hand weave it. However, unlike our competitors, we then take it to our factory in Japan where we steam it, stretch it and laminate it to make it straight and apply a stain-repellant finish. As a result, we provide the most magnificent Madagascar in the world!
