Table lamp
GLAM by Luc Ramael

GLAM

A new range by the Belgian designer Luc Ramael, resulting from a reinterpretation of the typical table lamp. Two elements in blown glass without any metal connection characterize the explicit and elegant shape of GLAM: a cylindrical diffuser with flattened, closed top and the truncated cone base that supports it and holds the non-visible bulb support. The white, red, black milk-glass or mirror finish of the diffuser combines with that in white milk-glass or transparent crystal of the base. A formal perception of the lamp and a changing quality of light is obtained according to the combination chosen. With the base in white milk-glass the overall diffusion of light is increased, whereas by opting for the “invisible” base in transparent crystal, the light privileges the horizontal plane rather than the lamp body. All the models are proposed with mirror finish or with mirror-finish diffuser for the base in transparent crystal. The GLAM range comprises an over-sized T5 model of 60 cm diameter, and two smaller models but having the same proportions, T3 and T1, of diameter 48 and 36 cm respectively. Depending on the diffuser finish the light can be diffused or downward and is provided by three halogen sources with G9 connection. Brightness is adjustable by the incorporated dimmer. The power cord, covered in red polyester, is a feature of the lamp.
