THE 1950'S COLOURS
RESSOURCE
Company PAPERS and PAINTS, directed and animated by Patrick Baty received the title of "Architectural paints specialists" by the English crown, for the quality of the whole of its work.
This historian of the color produced for RESOURCE our the first three collections: "Best Off - White broken", "Traditional Colors", "Historical Colors" and adapted a new collection "The 1950 ' S Colors".
A first pallet of colors standardized for paints ready with employment was born in Great Britain in the years 1930. It applied on very varied subjects integrating the descriptive one and remained of use during more than twenty years. It resulted from British Standard Institute which is the organization of standardization in the United Kingdom. Created in 1901, it published, in the most varied fields, more than 17.000 standards to date (ISO... BSI etc).
But, as of the beginning of the year 1950 a considerable number of research and experiments had been carried out within sight of the methodical use of the color in the construction industries. Courses had been exempted starting from scientific studies on lighting and the vision.
The results showed that the color if it is correctly included/understood and suitably applied can make much more than simply to cover and bring a completion to surfaces. It can contribute in a capital way to the design of a building.
