Prestressed concrete I beam
Ronveaux Bâtiment

The beams constitute the horizontal framework of a building. They are generally isostatic.
They are generally made out of reinforced concrete or prestressed concrete.
Their section is variable:
- rectangular (generally reserved with the beams of floor with weak range)
- out of I
- in T or T reversed
- out of U reversed.
Their height can be constant or variable.
The beams prestressed with variable height are used in roofing. Their height is maximum
with half span and decreases towards the butts with a slope of 5%. They are manufactured in 5 formwork-types: MT, TB, TC, TD, TE.
The beams with constant height can be used in roofing or floor.
The dimensioning of a beam of floor depends on the type of floor (alveolar flagstones with or without table of compression, COFLOOR ®, prédalles traditional, flagstone run in situ...), of the presence
of possible stays and of course of the requests. The high number of variables does not make it possible to carry out an abacus usable in all the cases, also want to consult us for any particular case.
Used in roofing, the beams with constant height are generally out of I and prestressed. Their standard width is of 300,350,400 and 450 cm. They can be used as support with a cover concrete (ISODAL®, alveolar flagstone, flagstone TOIDAL®, gas concrete...) or with a cover
metal, and this directly or via the intermediary of breakdowns (network of secondary beams) and with the help of the addition of a wind-bracing.
