Reinforced concrete beam
Ronveaux Bâtiment

The beams are generally posed on support neoprene and are bonded to their support.
The support neoprene can be hooped or not. In the first case, it will be able to accept a constraint of about 9 N/mm2 and in the other, to approximately 3 N/mm2 will be limited. Other factors such as the length of the beam and the conditions of use condition the type of neoprene.
It is very important to limit the width of neoprene to the width of the decreased beam of 50 mm and to envisage at least a zone of support 50 mm longer than neoprene, in order to avoid burstings of not armed edges.
To avoid the effects of creep, it is current to seal only one end of the prestressed beams. It is necessary to study the transfers of possible horizontal efforts on a case-by-case basis.
The horizontally requested beams of roofing must generally be braced. In the case of the roofings "concrete", those ensure the wind-bracing on the condition of envisaging some reinforcements leaving the higher table of the beam and some exceeding reinforcements
in the flagstones of roofing. The concreting of the node ensures the stability of the unit.
In the metal case of roofings, it is necessary to envisage a wind-bracing which includes/understands:
- breakdowns or poutrains in compression,
- metal diagonals to place by the roofer.
