Outward opening windows with integrated friction hinges both limit the possible opening angle of the window and ensure that the sash is held open in any opening angle. As a result, friction hinges ensure that the window sash can be continually moved and monitored. In addition, these windows have an extremely high joint impermeability, especially if the window is exposed to strong winds. Two friction hinge designs are available for different application areas: High-quality ferritic steel models can be used in areas in which the hardware’s corrosion resistance is not required. The austenitic steel version is recommended in coastal areas or in heavily industrialised regions.
