Fabrasorb Acoustical Membranes are used as interior liners in SHEERFILL Architectural Membrane systems. The Fabrasorb material is used to attenuate sound and enhance the thermal characteristics of fabric roof systems. Fabrasorb Acoustical Membrane materials are translucent, non-burning, porous composites based on fiberglass and polytetrafluoroethylene.
Retaining good noise reduction characteristics while allowing for slightly higher light transmission than Fabrasorb I, the lower weight Fabrasorb IA provides the same non-combustible properties and long service life as Fabrasorb I.
Lightweight Noise Reduction
When used as a liner in SHEERFILL® Architectural Membrane systems, Fabrasorb acoustical membrane significantly reduces interior noise levels. In traditional SHEERFILL membrane structures, Fabrasorb appears as an integral part of the roof itself. Ideal for sports complexes and industrial facilities, Fabrasorb allows diffused natural daylight in, while minimizing acoustical disturbance throughout.
Improved Climate Control
In addition to serving as a sound attenuator, Fabrasorb membrane can also improve the thermal characteristics of tensioned fabric structures. By creating an “insulation” layer of air between the outside and air-conditioned interior space, Fabrasorb can increase the R-value of the roofing membrane, while still allowing natual diffuse light to fill the space below.
