Wall light SANTA COLE AJ AARHUS by J. Arne & M. Erik
The project for the new City Hall in the small Danish town of Aarhus (1937-1942), well known for its importance in contemporary architecture, was an opportunity for experimentation in the design of objects which presaged the later work of both Arne Jacobsen and Erik Møller. The elegant proportions, the lucid transparency, the soft warmth of even the harshest corners of the building constituted a definite statement. Local government seen from its most human, friendly side.
