Description

Outdoor event space Esslingen, Germany Festo AG takes pride in the innovative design and architecture of its facilities worldwide, which combine function and beauty with a strong corporate identity. The new air-supported "Airquarium" at Festo's corporate campus exemplifies this approach. Function is served by a double-wall construction that provides thermal insulation, so the structure can be efficiently heated or cooled, depending on the season. Aesthetically, the high light transmission of the Tenara® Fabric allows soft daylight to diffuse through both layers of fabric. And at night, the structure glows from internal illumination, projecting Festo's blue corporate color. SEFAR® Architecture TENARA® Fabric also provides flexibility, especially important during fabrication and installation, and the ability to withstand snow and wind. The project was designed by Teschner Architects and Engineers, and fabricated and installed by Koch Membranen.
