Description

Madame is an elegant lounge chair designed in 1951 by Nanna Ditzel and her husband, Jørgen Ditzel. The couple's experimental approach to materials resulted in the shell shape with its soft and feminine shapes - hence the name Madame chair. The chair is part of Sika-Design's exclusive ICONS collection, which represents design furniture, designed by renowned architects and designers. With great respect and admiration for the original designs and in close collaboration with the descendants of these renowned furniture designers, we are delighted to be able to bring these icons back. The Madame Lounge Chair is handmade in sustainable Indonesian rattan by skilled wicker makers. Sika-Design uses carefully selected rattan for furniture production to ensure the highest quality. Rattan is often compared to bamboo, but unlike bamboo, which is hollow, rattan is a solid material. Rattan is a remarkably strong and indestructible material and therefore you get a unique piece of furniture that can last for generations. Armrest height: 59 cm | 23.3 inches * Weight: 8.5 kg | 18.8 lbs *
