ApplicationsThis furniture can be used in living rooms, large bedrooms, hotel lobbies, waiting rooms or in a wide variety of other settings. In order to protect the leather, it should not be placed near windows or radiators. It should be dusted often to avoid staining. Wiping with a damp cloth will prevent the leather from drying out.
TechnologiesMost of these pieces have a metal or wood frame with expanded polyurethane and polyester padding. In general, the leather covering is not removable. Sofas differ in the type of stitching used, the presence or absence of armrests and whether the back reclines.
The color of the natural leather can be changed with aniline dyes. Full-grain leather is made from selected pieces, and is protected by a thin layer to prevent staining and marks. Leather is tanned to counter wear. The nature of the treatment will determine the suppleness of the final product.
Choice will depend on where the sofa will be placed, with particular attention paid to its color. Other factors include size, form and, personal taste.
