Scandinavian Designer Blinds launch their range of acrylic venetian blinds with superimposed graphics at Helsinki Design Week. The designers CLAESSON KOIVISTO RUNE have elevated the role of the blind beyond that of privacy provider and sunscreen.

In new materials, new colours, with graphics, transparency and movement these old faithfuls have been given a new lease of life. Acrylic glass is available in a myriad of colours with varying degrees of transparency. It can be printed, flexed, laser cut, sanded and moulded into different shapes.

Scandinavian Designer Blinds can be motorised or manual.Somfy is a well-known supplier of durable, discreet and quiet motors. In partnership with Somfy, SDB supply a wall mounted control panel and an elegant remote control.

• In daylight the edges of the horizontal slats gleam and create patterns of shade and light.
• During the dark hours internal light is projected outwards, illuminating the façade.
