Déjeuner Sur l'Ombre (Lunch On the Shadow) questions the notion of a fantasy paradise, incarnated by urban gardens and parks, as fragments of an artificial and recreated paradise.
The furniture offers an aesthetic alternative to the intrusion of the artificial into a natural order: it is based on the shadow projected by a tree and in turn it reproduces this shadow on the ground.
Déjeuner Sur l'Ombre is a surface on which to live or relax, a territory to appropriate, alone or with others.
Its large surface area invites people to sit down, to lie down, to get together, to picnic, to talk...
