Van Besouw 5401 is really an anti-carpet. Or, as its designer Benno Premsela said: a carpet for people who do not like carpets. Putting the colour in the back, rows of pile material where left out to make the colour visible from the top. Wanting to use a natural fibre, the designer chose linen for its resistance and its typical behaviour. Van Besouw 5401 comes in 8 colourways, always combining undyed linen in the pile and coloured linen in the back construction. 5401 is also suitable for custom made rugs.
