The BL28 LED is a new, updated version of the well-known Copper & Brass Lights from David Derksen. The shape of the lamp is constructed by folding a 0.3 mm thin brass plate. The lamp contains an LED light source and a diffuser that provides a better and more even light output. The reflection of the surroundings in the shiny brass surfaces gives each facet its own color tone, from dark gold to yellow and beige. The BL28 LED has been part of the Vij5 collection since 2019. We believe it is important to regularly analyze, redevelop and improve the products in our collection to ensure they continue to meet the current demands of our customers. Therefore we are pleased to introduce a new addition to the Brass Light range, designed by David Derksen. Derived from his original Copper Lights, which we have been intrigued by since the (almost legendary) Autofficina expo in Milan in 2010, this new version of the lamp is ready for the next decade. Where the original series of the Brass Lights used the more traditional E27 light sources, David created this new version of the lamp to meet today's lighting design requirements. The new lamp therefore contains an LED light source and a diffuser that ensures a better and more even light output. The LED driver is integrated in the lamp and can therefore be connected directly to the 220V network. The shape of the lamp is constructed by folding a 0.3 mm thin brass plate. Etchings are used to apply the bending lines in the material, after which they are folded by hand and assembled in Eindhoven.
