Iron and glass gazebo Vivai del Sud Architettura e Alta Decorazione SANGALLO
Sangallo
“Gazebo” would be restrictive, “Jardin d’Hiver” inaccurate, “Pavilion” is getting there.
“SANGALLO”, thus named because of a distant reference to the syncretistic bastions of two great architects of the 16th century - Anthony da Sangallo the Younger and Giuliano da Sangallo - is the remarkable result of happy intuition.
It is a crystal box of around 40 m2 around which a thermo-lacquered iron structure gently follows the designer’s creativity with an unexpected outcome.
“SANGALLO” is surprising for its unique volume: it is built around a rectangular plan of 8x4 m, not including the four bow-windows placed in the corners, a central gallery (which is ideally used to divide the gazebo into two separate rooms of 4x3.5m) constructed in crystal like the two double-panelled doors without doorframes.
An impressive cornice, made from a single sheet of iron, follows the entire structure including the octagonal bow-windows, to finish in the centre (on both sides of the pavilion) where diamond crystal decorates above the doors leading to the gallery.
These rooms and bow-windows are very adaptable and can be put to many uses, bearing in mind that each wall is actually a hopper window and can be opened.
In any case, however this structure is used, each and every solution will be amplified by this unique and surprising architectural creation by “Vivai del Sud”.
