Clay pavers are fired at high temperatures (about 1,100 degrees Celsius). By firing them to their vitrification point, pavers are produced that are especially tough and very dense, making them extremely resilient. They are unaffected by weathering and can take heavy mechanical loads. They retain their colour for a life-time and are also resistant to acids, salts and oils. They are extremely easy to look after and their slightly textured surface makes them safe to walk on.
