Description

The origin of the 'white good' comes from Faenza in Italy. This was shortly before 1550 an opaque, milky glaze developed for decorative and utilitarian objects. These objects were known as Bianca di Faenza. The glaze was an improvement of the existing tin glaze. Under the influence of this new glaze was made from the first half of the 17th century white earthenware in the Netherlands. A DUTCH CLASSIC The Frisian witch is a true classic of Dutch wall tiles. It is a handcrafted wall tile with a size of 13 by 13 centimeters. The thickness of the tile is approximately 8 millimeters. The calcareous clay is coated with a layer of whitish tin glaze. After being fired at 1000 degrees, the Frisian witch has its distinctive appearance. A WIDE VARIETY OF shades The purity of the raw materials, the process and the oxides provide rich organic tones. Whites tiles are available with and without crackle. In addition to the old recipes new color tones appear regularly too. All shades are available and usually in stock. A mixture of different shades Frisian Whites called "hodgepodge Whites.
