Description

Breccia Medicea, also known as Breccia di Seravezza, is an historic italian marble widely used since Roman era. Breccia Medicea became famous when Cosimo I de Medici, lord of Firenze, gained the monopoly over the Seravezza quarries and made of Breccia Medicea the symbol of his power, using it for the Duomo of Firenze and Pitti Palace. The production of Breccia Medicea is now very limited: it is extracted in one quarry only near Vagli. The blocks are medium and small sized and they need to be resined before the cut in order to avoid slabs loss. also the slabs are resined again, in order to fix some micr-cracks or defects which may occur. Through the exclusive triple vacuum resining process and the use of epoxy resins, Ziche can guarantees to the slabs of Breccia Medicea a perfect structure free of defects and porosities and without affecting its natural colour. Breccia Medicea is commonly used for indoor and outdoor floorings, claddings, ventilate facades, columns, stairs., for small or medium prestigious projects. The most common use is that of indoor floorings with the polished finishing. Finishings:polished, honed, brushed, bush-hammered, sandblasted,
