Schenker Stores

Who we are

It all started in an unassuming Swiss barn where, in 1881, Emil Schenker began fabricating window blinds that were revolutionary for their era. Word soon got around that Mr. Schenker made superb quality blinds and shutters, and the company grew steadily. It was renamed Emil Schenker & Co. AG in 1938, and received its current name, Schenker Storen AG, in 1984. Our first shade design patent was registered in 1895, and this was followed by a panoply of product launches, including the invention in 1974 of the classic all-metal blind GM 100, which ultimately evolved into today’s GM 200. 1976 saw the introduction of the compact Venetian blind VR 90 and the compact reefing blind MV90 in 2002 with many products developpements in between. Today, we employ more than 750 persons and 40 trainees. We manufacture our products in our Schönenwerd, Switzerland and Thanvillé, France locations.
