Your suggestions for improvement:

An HID, or high-intensity discharge lamp produces light via an electric arc between two tungsten electrodes in a transparent tube of fused quartz filled with a particular gas. It produces more light per unit of energy consumed than incandescent and fluorescent lighting because more of its emissions are in the form of visible light and less in the form of heat.
ApplicationsBecause of their high luminous output and great efficiency, these lamps are widely used in street, industrial and general outdoor public lighting.
While high-pressure technology has become a standard in roadside lighting, low-pressure sodium vapor lamps are used where economy takes precedence over color rendition. Given their extended warm-up time, such lamps are recommended for long-term illumination, and are inappropriate for use with motion sensors.
HID lamps use an electric arc to produce an intense light. Like fluorescent bulbs, they require a ballast. It takes about 10 minutes for them to reach maximum brightness, the time required for the formation of the electric arc.
Mercury vapor models are the oldest form of arc lamp. They produce a cold, white light, and are used primarily for street lighting. Metal halide versions offer high output and a brilliant white light. They are common in large indoor spaces, but are also found in exterior illumination. Sodium lamps have an extremely long working life, but their color rendition is less satisfactory.

- Long working life
- Low power consumption
- Sub-optimal color rendition
