A salt chlorinator disinfects swimming pool water in a completely natural fashion, without the use of harmful chemicals. Instead, it generates odorless and tasteless natural chlorine using salt added to the pool water.

TechnologiesFirst, salt is added to the swimming pool water (about four grams per liter). As the water passes between the chlorinator plates connected to the filtration system, the salt is transformed into active or available natural chlorine, which attacks bacteria and algae in the water. The sun's UV rays turn the chlorine back into salt, and the process begins again. Some models are self-cleaning, automatically removing deposits from the plates.
How to chooseBefore choosing a salt chlorinator, filter pump compatibility must be ascertained. There also must be enough space available for its installation and attachment to the filtration system.
