A series of park benches designed as a farewell gift to the City of Arnhem, the Netherlands, from departing Mayor Pauline Krikke. Excellent ergonomic features and extreme durability are the main characteristics. Creating the right “seat” meant elaborate wood shaping. The result: incredibly comfortable! Designed by Arthur Rottier the 3300mm Accoya wood bench is guaranteed for 50 years and is sustainable. The Accsys Technologies manufacturing plant, where Accoya is made is in Arnhem, and all the design and production took place locally. Based on these specific benches, a commercial version will be available from June 2014.
