One of the most powerful domestic-use petrol brushcutters in production, the top-of-the-range Alpina ABR 55 D is aimed at gardeners looking for a high-performance work partner capable of handling heavier-duty jobs.
Developing an impressive 1.7kW (2.3hp) is a large-displacement 52.8cc air-cooled two-stroke engine with Easy Start for hassle-free ignition; and a roomy 0.8-litre fuel tank for long runs without interruption.
The rust-resistant aluminium shaft on the ABR 55 D helps minimise machine-weight and can be split to save space during storage and transport.
Six self-lubricating transmission bushes work to optimise user comfort by reducing vibration transfer to the user’s body; while a professional-style ‘bike’ handle facilitates a natural, low-effort lateral ‘sweeping’ motion.
Other comfort-features include a practical multi-function control handle, ergonomic soft-touch grips and a luxury double-shoulder harness.
The ABR 55 D is supplied with two cutter-heads – a 45cm twin-line trimmer head, ideal for putting the finishing touches once you’ve finished mowing; and a 25.5mm three-tooth metal brush blade that will cut through dense, well-established scrub and bramble with ease.
The line-head benefits from a Bump & Work system that eliminates the need for manual line advance – just tap the head on the ground!
