Wool blanket MANTA

The Manta Blanket is a luxurious, hand-woven blanket made with the finest wool. Sebastian Herkner, who visited Colombia multiple times and met the local craftsmen and craftswomen working for ames, designed the modernist check pattern. The blanket, which is available in four colour combinations, is perfect for cuddling up on the sofa or as a plaid for the guest bed Each blanket is woven by hand on a vertical loom in our Colombian workshops where the local artesanos and artesanas use techniques that have been passed down over generations. They only use threads made from natural virgin wool, which has been dyed with natural pigments. Just the preparation of the wool takes four days, while the weaving takes six days German designer Sebastian Herkner is a long-term collaborator of ames and has visited Colombia multiple times to experience the country’s cities, nature and people first hand. He also visited many of the ateliers that ames has partnered with to learn about the unique traditional crafts of Colombia's regions. A sought-after contemporary designer and recipient of many industry awards, he has worked with many international design brands, creating intriguing pieces that showcase his intuition for interesting material, colour and texture combinations
